Drew Pardy is an artist and arts worker based in St. John’s, NL. She received her BFA in 2019 from Grenfell Campus, Memorial University. Through performance, soft sculpture and printmaking, Drew uses collaboration, community care and humour as vessels for change.
Drew is one half of the friendship heart necklace that is HOT 4 THE MOMENT, a collective with Georgia Dawkin and is a member of TRUCK Collective with Annie Canto and Emily Neufeld. In 2024 HOT 4 THE MOMENT was awarded the Rooms Elbow Room Residency and VANL-CARFAC Emerging Artists of the Year.
Drew has exhibited nationally and internationally.

Katelin Forest King is an Inuk Multimedia Artist, Performer, and Instructor. Katelin is a member of the NunatuKavut Community Council, growing up in St. Lewis, NL, and currently lives in St. John’s, NL, where she sells her art out of her home studio. Her visual arts practice includes acrylic paintings, beading, caribou tufting, and hand-stitched art pieces, just to name a few. Her self-taught artistic expression reflects both her deep love of nature and cultural reclamation of her Inuk identity. Katelin has taught many traditional crafts to both the St. Lewis and St. John’s communities.

Participants will learn how to paint a white daisy using watercolour techniques that emphasize light, shadow, and negative space. This session explores how to create the illusion of white without using white paint, with a focus on masking techniques, layering, and subtle colour shifts. This workshop is suitable for beginner to intermediate level.

Luanne Dominix is a visual artist and educator based in Bay Roberts, NL. Her practice explores the intersection of material culture, natural resources, and identity, with a focus on how place and process shape personal and collective experience. Luanne’s work has been exhibited in juried exhibitions across Canada and the United States including with the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour. Her work is a part of The Rooms Provincial Art Bank as well as the City of St. John’s and Eastern Health - MHAC, permanent collections. She is currently preparing for her first solo show at the ROGUE Gallery in November 2025. Luanne has taught numerous watercolour workshops throughout the province. Her goal is to provide welcoming sessions that are rooted in strong foundational technique and a passion for creative exploration.

Dave Hoddinott was born and raised in Newfoundland on Canada's East Coast. In 1995, he left his 20 year career in the architectural drafting and illustration field to pursue his dream of becoming a full time artist. Working mainly in acrylics, Dave is best known for his dramatic light-filled landscape paintings. Dave has facilitated many workshops for Art NL, as well as weekly sessions in his own studio.

Lesley Janes is a St. John’s born Artist as well as the owner of Brush Strokes with Lesley. Born a creative soul, Lesley has also studied with Brenda Rowe, Melanie Smith and Stephen Zeifman. In 2016 she graduated with distinction from The London Art College.
In 2011 Lesley opened Brush Strokes with Lesley, a small business which offers drawing, acrylic painting, natural oil painting and more to all ages of students.

Cyanotype is an early photographic technique that uses sunlight to develop striking blue prints. Join Jennifer Morgan for a hands-on Cyanotype Printing Workshop, where you'll learn the cyanotype process and create beautiful prints using ferns, flowers or any flat objects collected from nature. Jennifer Morgan works primarily in print, but learned cyanotype about ten years from Lynn Taylor, a visiting artist from New Zealand hosted by the Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador. Since then, Jennifer has incorporated cyanotype into etchings, used cyanotype squares in her first (and possibly only) quilt, and is currently printing cyanotypes of Juniper branches for the cover of a letterpress artist book about the Grimm’s fairy tale: “The Juniper Tree”. Alicia Morry is an artist from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. She primarily works in watercolour but enjoys working with other media, including pastel and oil. She is passionate about nature and enjoys getting outside to paint plein air wherever she is— be it a scenic viewpoint or her own backyard.

Cupids Cathedral House 169 Burnt Head Loop
In this session, Megan Fitzgerald will guide participants through the fundamentals of portrait painting using gouache. You’ll learn how to use the grid sketching method, create an underpainting, understand portrait lighting and skin tone.
Gouache is a water based paint medium, similar to watercolours, but opaque! This creates the opportunity to layer the paint differently than traditional water-based mediums so you aren’t limited to layering darker washes over lighter ones.
Suitable for participants with some experience in drawing or painting.

Based in Newfoundland, Megan A. Fitzgerald is an illustrator and fine artist who focuses on the inherent charm of everyday people and feelings. Her goal in creating is to share her passion for collecting and telling stories. She believes the impact of visual arts is profoundly magical, and strives to share this perspective through her own artwork.

Written and directed by local creative, Kenneth J. Harvey, step into the colourful universe of Canadian painter Clifford George — widely known as The Man with the Ponies — who spearheaded the campaign that saved the Newfoundland pony from imminent extinction. From NL, he once painted landscapes and traditional houses of his home until his style recently turned abstract. “As I grow older“, this remarkable storyteller explains, “life becomes more abstract“. The film also addresses the theme of storytelling and its significance.
